Hey there! I'm Lara,
Founder of Groovy Girl Cafe.
What started as a dream (and a serious love for coffee and baking) has become my way to share warmth, creativity, and a little groovy energy with my community. Every latte, every homemade treat, and every smile shared from the camper reminds me why I took this leap, to bring people together and spread a bit of sunshine wherever we roll.
My Story
Early in 2025, I went through an accident that completely changed my perspective.
It forced me to slow down in a way I never had before. To rest. To heal. To really think about what matters. What felt scary and frustrating at first slowly turned into something else: a wake-up call. A reminder that life is fragile, precious, and not meant to be lived on autopilot.
For years, my friends and family had been telling me to do something with my love for cooking and baking. “You should open something,” they’d say. I always laughed it off. Life was busy. The timing wasn’t perfect. I had a million reasons to wait. But that accident became my someday.
It gave me the push I didn’t know I needed. It made me brave enough to imagine a life built around creativity, connection, and joy, where I could share the comfort of good coffee and homemade treats with other people. And that’s how Groovy Girl Café was born, a vintage 1965 camper turned into a cozy little café serving coffee, matcha, and baked goods made with a whole lot of love.
This project holds so many pieces of my heart:
• A sweet tribute to my daughter, Lennon, my forever “groovy girl” and biggest inspiration.
• A nod to my love for the colorful, soulful vibes of the ’60s and ’70s.
• A fresh start rooted in resilience, passion, and the simple joy of bringing people together.
Groovy Girl Café isn’t just a business to me. It’s proof that something beautiful can grow out of hard seasons. That it’s never too late to start over. That sometimes the hardest chapters lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.
So whether you’re stopping by for your morning coffee, a sweet treat, or just a little feel-good energy, I’d truly love to see you.
Here’s to fresh starts, strong coffee, and keeping life a little groovy. ✌️
